Found this on Reddit. Someone's father on there collects old WHU programmes, and this apparently is a surviving copy of the only known Thames Ironworks programme. Versus QPR 12th Feb 1898.

I don't know its value and it's a difficult one to judge but would be in the low thousands. There are a few West Ham programme collectors willing to spend the big bucks. Interestingly, apart from probably Man Utd programmes, West Ham's are the next most valuable. Few programmes post WW2 have any great value unless they are postponed issues or rare away friendlies. It is the earlier issues that command the highest prices at auction. A good clean 1923 cup final programme will cost you nearly 1000 pounds. A 1933 West Ham/Everton FA cup semi final programme could be 1500 pounds. Pre WW1 programmes are rare. These 'Hammers Gazette' issues are small but really informative and you would be harded pressed to pick up any, even for reserve games, for under 400 pounds. when i moved property a few years back i gave all my programmes away to a charity shop, some signed from the 85/86 season, i regret doing that

Good stuff, I used to collect as a teenager but like most things got dropped once I had a whiff of sex, drugs & booze...
Must have a rummage through my collection still housed in my old bedroom at mums..

Wow that is a great item to have!
(I collected a lot of pre 1958 programmes in my youth. 1903 Handbook my oldest!).

It's mine my son must have posted it.The match existed. It is a genuine QPR programme from 1898 that has been confirmed by the QPR historian but oddly the Thames Ironworks team listed does not relate to any known players. It's always been a mystery to me.

And the only programme advertising gunpowder I've seen!
WHU didn't have adverts until the 1970s. Billy Bonds looking menacing advertising Fords. :-)
